IDEA statement

Inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) statement

PRX aspires to become an organization where all employees can be their true authentic selves and are treated fairly and with dignity.  We celebrate, respect, and value diverse perspectives. By developing ourselves in this way, we will make more thoughtful decisions and solve problems more effectively as an organization. We are committed to building Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) into our operations and model at all levels, weaving each concept into our organizational fabric.

We recognize that IDEA work is a dynamic journey and our approach should be as well. While our commitment to our Core Values will not waver, how we approach the work will evolve. We recognize the continuous journey.

Our efforts will require us to actively listen and discern between the situations that need immediate attention versus structural changes that need to be planned out strategically with great intention and thought. As we evaluate our learning goals, policies, and practices, we will utilize the Targeted Universalism framework to address how we allocate our resources and time. In doing so, we can better design solutions that address root causes of barriers to equity, therefore benefiting everyone. Additionally, a shift from a historically white ableist dominant culture will enable us to create inclusive and equitable policies and practices and strengthen our purpose.

Committing to IDEA means promoting and advancing equity, building internal community, and developing organizational resilience. We view inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility as central to our mission and the health of our organization. We recognize and respect the learning that lies ahead.
