About Me

Shia Levitt is a freelance radio reporter who recently moved to Brooklyn after a long stint in San Francisco. Her work has aired on several NPR shows, Marketplace, The World, KQED, and numerous other public radio outlets. She has also produced for CBS Radio's The Osgood File, Voice of America and World Vision Report. Her features and daily news spots cover a broad range of topics, from science, technology and medicine to labor, religion, and international affairs. Shia has traveled extensively for freelance reporting work. She covered the 2003 Somali Peace Talks in Nairobi, Kenya; the conflict in Ivory Coast; changes in Japan's labor market; and the 2005 political protests calling for the impeachment of President Gloria Arroyo in the Philippines. She has also reported from India and Israel. Shia is a graduate of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
